Let’s explore investing in

real estate together!

I’m Greg – Author, Speaker, Coach & Real Estate Investor

Greg, a North Carolina native, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Aerospace Engineering and a minor in Business Management from North Carolina State University. He worked as a co-op student with GE Aircraft Engines, and later spent several years working with NASA. Seeing real estate investing as a tangible method of building wealth, he bought his first rental property in 1996 and quickly built a diversified portfolio of properties. Over the last 25 years he has owned and/or managed single family, multi-family, and commercial properties in three states and still maintains a portfolio of properties in the Charlotte, NC area.

With a strong background in sales & marketing, his passion for business, teaching others and mentoring has propelled many of his actions in the business realm. He is passionately driven to ethical excellence in all he does and loves to share the knowledge he gained earning his advanced degree from the school of hard knocks.

My Message

I once had a friend mention that “I don’t know what I don’t know about investing in real estate. I would not even know where to get started.” I also had another friend approach me because his son had become enthralled by all of the flash and promise of fast money some of the self-proclaimed gurus on YouTube have preached.

I was in both camps in my youth. I was hungry for an education in real estate investing and could see dollar signs every time I studied a different “no-money down” technique that promised a quick and huge return.

After over 25 years of real estate investing and coaching experience I wanted to launch The Rocket Guy Real Estate Investing Network to provide education based on time-tested investing fundamentals. With some humor added in to keep it fun. My hope is that the beginner can get off to a good start without being overwhelmed and the seasoned investor can grab some good nuggets along the way.

BACKGROUND

Everyone’s real estate journey starts somewhere — mine started at NASA as an aerospace engineer. As much as I love all things space and science, I soon felt a tugging towards a different kind of adventure after I became a first-time homeowner.

I bought my first rental property in 1996 and haven’t looked back since. For more than 25 years I’ve bought, leased and sold single-family, multi-family and even commercial properties in three states. Along the way I’ve met more people and learned more about life than I ever imagined was possible.

EXPERIENCE

I’ve learned many of the fundamentals of real estate investing the hard way, so you don’t have to. (Though it’s given me some great stories for the occasional party).

From home inspections gone wrong to experimenting with “zero down” purchases, I’ve been there and done that when it comes to just about anything you can think of. If you have a question, I probably asked it at some point and have some sort of an answer. After two decades of successfully building a real estate “empire” I’m still learning new things every day.

VISION

Over the years I’ve had many mentors who have made all the difference in helping me succeed and get to where I am today. It’s become my vision to in turn teach and help others in a way that is clear, effective and fun.

Investing in real estate can seem overwhelming, and you may not know where to begin. My approach is to demystify the process, step by step, one question, one topic at a time.

TOPICS

There’s no real estate topic too basic or too obscure for me to tackle. However, having a good philosophy about real estate investing is much different than having real world experience applying these techniques and theories. I pride myself in bringing ideas attached to shoe leather or philosophy in motion based on my experience in the field.
